NUTECH Partners with Barrick for Mining Training Program

NUTECH Islamabad has kicked off a specialized mining training program for 18 graduates from the Reko Diq Mining Company. This initiative is a part of Barrick’s International Graduate Development Program 2024, aiming to equip selected graduates with critical skills for the mining sector. The program includes two months of advanced training at NUTECH, followed by an 18-month on-the-job learning experience at Barrick’s international mining sites.

During the training, graduates will gain expertise in mining operations and associated technical disciplines. The curriculum focuses on key areas such as geology, exploration, safety measures, and environmental protection. This program ensures participants develop an in-depth understanding of modern mining techniques and innovative practices.

Building Skills and Careers in the Mining Sector

The NUTECH mining training program goes beyond traditional learning by emphasizing communication skills and technical innovation. Graduates will be introduced to the latest advancements in the mining industry, preparing them for global opportunities. The selected candidates hail from Balochistan and were chosen for their potential to contribute to the industry under Barrick’s 2024 initiative.

This year’s program builds on the success of 2023, when nine graduates from Balochistan were trained and placed at Barrick’s Argentina site. By focusing on practical training and international exposure, NUTECH and Barrick aim to develop a skilled workforce capable of meeting the demands of modern mining operations while ensuring safety and sustainability.

By investing in youth development and technical expertise, this partnership is paving the way for a brighter future in Pakistan’s mining sector. Programs like these not only offer career growth opportunities for local graduates but also foster sustainable industry practices that benefit both the economy and the environment. NUTECH’s commitment to innovation and education is a step forward in empowering the next generation of mining professionals.
