    Pakistan’s Counterterrorism Drive: A Showcase of Precision and Resolve

    Between December 7 and 18, 2024, Pakistan’s security forces launched a series of counterterrorism operations, targeting terrorist outfits like Fitna-al-Khawarij (FAK) and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Over 14 operations across multiple regions neutralized 76 terrorists, disrupted networks, and safeguarded critical areas.     Key Highlights of the Operations

    December 7: Mullazai, Tank, and North Waziristan

    •In Mullazai, Tank, 9 terrorists, including a suicide bomber, were neutralized by the 2-SSG team, preventing casualties among security forces.

    •Drone strikes in North Waziristan eliminated 13 TTP terrorists, including two Tier-2 commanders, and critically injured a senior operative.

    December 9: D.I. Khan and Bannu

    •Kulachi, D.I. Khan: Three terrorists were neutralized in a BD Party ambush, while another was injured.

    •Bannu: Two key operatives of the Ibrahim Banuchi Group, involved in the targeted killing of Ali Bahadur, were eliminated.

    December 10: Sartoi, Zhob

    A large-scale operation in Sartoi, Zhob, eliminated 15 militants, significantly weakening local terror networks.

    December 13: Qilla Abdullah, Zhob, and Panjgur

    •In Qilla Abdullah, 4 high-value Afghan operatives were arrested, including two IED experts.

    •In Zhob, 7 TTP militants were neutralized during a swift engagement.

    •In Panjgur, the death of Zakir Baloch and other BLA terrorists debunked false claims of forced disappearances. Zakir was undergoing BLA training and was later killed in combat.

    December 17: Taunsa Sharif and Mohmand District

    •In Taunsa Sharif, Rangers and police foiled an ambush on polio teams, eliminating 2 TTP terrorists.

    •In Mohmand District, security forces neutralized 4 TTP militants, seizing a substantial arms cache.

    Sacrifices of the Brave

    While these operations yielded remarkable successes, they came at a cost. Pakistan’s security forces lost 15 brave soldiers, including:

    •6 martyrs on December 7 in Tal Scout.

    •1 martyr on December 10 in Zhob.

    •4 martyrs on December 15 in Tirah Valley.

    •3 martyrs on December 17 in D.I. Khan due to an IED blast.

    These sacrifices highlight the dedication and resilience of Pakistan’s forces in safeguarding national security.
