    Pakistan and Malaysia Vow to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

    Pakistan and Malaysia Vow to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation

    Islamabad – Prime Ministers Shehbaz Sharif and Anwar Ibrahim met on Thursday in Islamabad, where they vowed to enhance Pakistan-Malaysia cooperation across a range of sectors. Their discussions, as reported by Radio Pakistan, focused on strengthening ties and addressing issues of mutual interest, including matters affecting the Muslim community globally.

    Focus on Strengthening Bilateral Relations

    During the meeting, both leaders emphasized the need for more structured mechanisms to boost cooperation, covering economic, social, and regional issues. Prime Minister Ibrahim expressed support for Pakistan’s ongoing engagement with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) and welcomed Pakistan’s increasing role in the region.

    Malaysia’s Support for Pakistan in ASEAN

    The Malaysian premier also noted Malaysia’s upcoming chairmanship of Asean in 2025 and reaffirmed Malaysia’s commitment to strong bilateral ties. PM Shehbaz Sharif extended congratulations and expressed optimism about the future of this partnership.

    Commitment to Future Engagements

    The two leaders agreed on the importance of dialogue and exchanges of visits, which will foster better cooperation. Additionally, they highlighted mechanisms such as the Joint Ministerial Commission to support future engagement.
