In a significant show of solidarity, former Federal Minister and senior Istihkam-e-Pakistan Party leader Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan visited the Iranian Embassy in Islamabad to meet Ambassador Dr. Reza Amiri. The visit underscored Pakistan’s strong support for Iran during the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict.
During her visit, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan offered Fateha for the martyrs of Iran and prayed for their elevated ranks, reflecting the deep compassion and respect of the Pakistani people. She made clear that Pakistan stands shoulder to shoulder with Iran in its hour of trial, extending heartfelt condolences and solidarity.
The IPP leader wholeheartedly endorsed Iran’s principled stance in the conflict, expressing gratitude for Iran’s acknowledgment of Pakistan’s support in its Parliament. She highlighted how Pakistan’s parliamentary declaration of support for Iran is a matter of national pride and a testament to shared values and Islamic brotherhood.
Also present at the meeting were IPP leader Major (Retd) Khurram Hameed Rokhri, President of National Press Club Islamabad Anwar Raza, senior journalist Zamir Haider, and other senior figures. Their presence marked a united front of Pakistani political leaders, journalists, and civil society expressing unwavering solidarity with Iran.
Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan emphasized that the Iran-Israel conflict has revealed Iran as a new, resilient Islamic force in the region. She praised the enduring bonds of Pak-Iran friendship, describing them as among the strongest ties in the region.
She also commended the strategic wisdom and diplomatic leadership of Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Hafiz Syed Asim Munir, whose far-sighted approach and successful diplomacy played a key role in defusing the threat of a wider regional war. Senior IPP leaders noted that his leadership helped the world avoid a major catastrophe.
In her concluding remarks, Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan affirmed that the entire Pakistani nation prays for the Iranian martyrs and stands in unbreakable solidarity with Iran. She declared that Pakistan will continue to support Iran and all Islamic countries in the future, strengthening the bonds of unity and brotherhood across the Muslim world.
