PESHAWAR: From Bajaur to Lakki Marwat, violent elements are relentlessly attempting to undermine hard-won peace across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Yet, the state’s resolve remains unshaken and unwavering in the face of these sinister efforts.

In Lakki Marwat, Inamullah Khan, the determined head of the Marwat-Bettani Qaumi Tehreek, narrowly survived a devastating improvised explosive device (IED) attack targeting his convoy. Displaying exceptional courage and leadership, he not only retaliated to repel the assailants but also delivered an impassioned appeal to his fellow citizens. He urged the public to stand shoulder to shoulder with security forces and reject the toxic ideology of militancy that seeks to drag the region back into violence and chaos.

Meanwhile, in Bajaur, tragedy struck when Maulana Khanzeb, a respected leader affiliated with the Awami National Party (ANP), was brutally shot dead while actively promoting dialogue and harmony among rival groups. His killing has sent shockwaves through the province, as communities mourn the loss of yet another advocate for peace whose only crime was believing in reconciliation over bloodshed.

These coordinated attacks underscore the desperation and moral bankruptcy of the enemies of peace, who rely on cowardly tactics to silence voices of reason and intimidate the public. Their goal is clear: to fracture communities, undermine confidence in the state, and revive a climate of fear that so many have fought to overcome.

Yet the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have repeatedly proven their resilience and defiance in the face of terror. Armed forces, police, and law enforcement agencies remain vigilant and proactive, launching intelligence-led operations to dismantle militant networks and prevent further bloodshed. Their sacrifices on the frontlines—from routine patrols to high-risk raids—are the cornerstone of the nation’s stability, ensuring that terrorists find no safe haven to regroup or spread their hateful ideology.

Government officials and community leaders alike have called for unity and solidarity in these trying times. They stress that the only way to defeat extremism is through collective resolve, trust in the security forces, and unyielding rejection of violence as a political tool. The memory of those martyred in the quest for peace, like Maulana Khanzeb, will not be forgotten, serving as a solemn reminder of what is at stake and what must be protected at all costs.
