Hamed Saifi Urges Afghan Opposition to Unite Against the Taliban

Hamed Saifi, a commander of the anti-Taliban resistance, has urged political leaders opposing the Taliban to set aside personal interests and divisions. He called for unity, stressing that disunity would only weaken their struggle.

In a statement on X, Saifi referred to reports of internal disputes among Taliban leaders. However, he dismissed the idea of focusing on these internal conflicts. He warned that analyzing which faction is fighting or who has been arrested, injured, or killed within the Taliban is pointless.

According to Saifi, despite internal differences, one faction of the Taliban will continue to rule Afghanistan. He stressed that this would not bring positive change. Instead, it could make life even harder for the people.

The anti-Taliban resistance commander believes the Taliban’s downfall is inevitable. However, he made it clear that this depends on the unity of the opposition. If political opponents of the Taliban fail to put aside their differences, Afghanistan’s future could fall into the hands of foreign forces and their agents.

Saifi praised the guerrilla fighters who have kept the hope of freedom alive through their sacrifices. He urged politicians to do the same. He called on them to show selflessness and dedicate themselves to the cause.

The National Resistance Front has been waging its struggle against the Taliban since their takeover. For over three years, resistance forces have been targeting Taliban fighters in different provinces.

Besides the National Resistance Front, the Afghanistan Freedom Front has also been carrying out attacks against the Taliban since February 2022. However, the Taliban government’s spokesperson, Zabihullah Mujahid, dismissed these claims. He described them as propaganda and compared the attacks to mere firecrackers.

Since the Taliban regained power in August 2021, many former government officials have formed political groups in exile. These groups continue to push back against the Taliban’s rule and support the anti-Taliban resistance movement.
