The ISPR’s confirmation of the horrific suicide bombing in Mir Ali, North Waziristan, that killed 13 military personnel and injured dozens more is not just another tragic news item—it is a sobering wake-up call for every Pakistani who believes the war on terror is over.

This was no small or accidental attack. Reports confirm the bomber used around 800 kilograms of explosives, making it a calculated, well-funded, and technologically sophisticated act of terror. This is the true face of the enemy: a cold-blooded, well-equipped network of killers determined to destabilize Pakistan and shatter the peace hard-won through years of sacrifice.

Yet, predictably, there are voices that will rush to politicize this tragedy, to question the Army’s role in the region, or even to blame the state for “provoking” militancy. They ignore a simple, brutal fact: these terrorists do not want peace, autonomy, or development—they want chaos, fear, and blood. They target soldiers because soldiers are the last and strongest line of defense between these monsters and the ordinary citizens they aim to terrorize.

The ISPR’s confirmation of this attack is not just an administrative formality—it is an act of transparency and honesty with the people. The Army does not hide its losses. It honors its martyrs. It acknowledges the ongoing cost of this fight and refuses to lull the nation into a false sense of security.

And make no mistake, the Army will respond. For every act of terror, there will be a counter-operation. For every soldier martyred, hundreds of militants will be hunted, cornered, and neutralized. This is not revenge—it is duty. It is the only language these terrorists understand.

Some critics will argue that military operations create more militants. This is a lie spread by the very networks that benefit from militancy. These terrorists are not farmers radicalized by poverty—they are trained, funded, and guided by foreign handlers who seek to break Pakistan’s will. Blaming the Army for defending the nation is like blaming a firefighter for the flames.

This attack in Mir Ali is a grim reminder of the stakes. We cannot afford to be complacent. We cannot fall for the enemy’s psychological warfare that seeks to divide us, pit province against province, civilian against soldier, and undermine the trust between the people and their protectors.

The blood spilled in North Waziristan is a sacred trust. It binds us to finish what we started: to rid Pakistan of these murderers, expose their sponsors, and ensure that no family has to bury a loved one because some coward strapped explosives to his body in the name of twisted ideology.

As the ISPR confirms this terrible loss, let us not wallow in despair or blame. Let us honor our martyrs the only way that matters—by supporting our Army, standing united as a nation, and refusing to let terror win.
