France Announces €500,000 Grant for KP Flood Relief
France Extends Support to Pakistan’s Flood-Hit Communities
France has renewed its support for Pakistan’s fight against climate disasters. On Tuesday, French Ambassador Nicolas Galey announced a €500,000 grant to help flood-hit families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The ceremony took place at his residence in Islamabad.
Aid for 21,000 People
The grant will help 3,000 households in Buner and Swat. This support covers nearly 21,000 people who lost homes, land, or livelihoods in the 2025 floods. Ambassador Galey said the French people stand in “concrete solidarity” with Pakistan. He added that France worked closely with NGOs to track the crisis and deliver aid where it was needed most.
Sympathy and Commitment
The ambassador expressed deep sympathy for those who lost family members. He also pointed to heavy damage in schools, water systems, and local markets. France, he stressed, will keep working with Pakistan to tackle humanitarian needs and build resilience against climate change.
