Hezbollah’s warning to Israel has taken a serious turn. Hassan Nasrallah, the group’s secretary-general, cautioned Israel to prepare for unexpected developments. This message was delivered during a televised speech on the 24th anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day.

The Gaza conflict has now entered its eighth month. Iran-backed Hezbollah is reportedly gearing up for a surprise attack on Israel. Nasrallah’s warning to Israel emphasized the unpredictability of Hezbollah’s actions. “You must expect surprises from our resistance,” he declared.

Hezbollah emerged as a powerful force during the Lebanon civil war. The group has consistently supported the Palestinian cause and Gaza, frequently clashing with Israel. Since October 7, Israel has conducted a military offensive in Gaza. This followed an attack by the Palestinian Hamas group, which resulted in over a thousand deaths in Israeli towns near the border.

Despite the prolonged offensive, Nasrallah argued that Israel has failed to achieve its strategic goals. He cited Israeli National Security Council head Tzachi Hanegbi, who admitted the goals remain unmet and could take years to realize.

Nasrallah detailed several setbacks for Israel. One significant blow is the recognition of the Palestinian state by numerous European countries. He described this as a substantial loss for Israel, attributing it to the “Al-Aqsa Flood battle” – the name given to the October 7 Hamas attack.

Furthermore, Nasrallah pointed out that Israel now faces scrutiny from the International Criminal Court (ICC). He accused Israel of disregarding international resolutions and continuing violent raids on Rafah, despite an International Court of Justice (ICJ) order to halt its military offensive immediately.

In defense of Israel’s actions, Hanegbi, a top aide to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asserted Israel’s right to self-defense. He maintained this stance even in light of the ICJ ruling.

The situation in Gaza remains tense. Hezbollah’s warning to Israel highlights the ongoing volatility. Both sides continue to brace for further developments as the international community closely monitors the situation.
