US President Donald Trump on Monday said Iran has no option but to reach an agreement with Washington, as diplomatic tensions continue over stalled negotiations between the two sides.

Speaking in a televised address, Trump said, “In my view, Iran has no path except a deal,” underscoring his administration’s push for a negotiated settlement.

He further claimed that Iran’s nuclear capability had been “completely eliminated,” adding that Tehran could no longer achieve even “nuclear dust,” though he did not provide evidence to support the statement.

Trump said he was seeking a “good deal” but insisted he did not want the process to be rushed, saying, “I don’t want haste from those people,” referring to Iranian negotiators.

He also claimed that the United States had “completely won the war,” without offering further context, and added that Washington was dealing with Iran “very successfully,” while keeping the option of military action open.

On regional tensions, Trump referred to the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a critical global shipping route, and said Iran had sent mixed signals regarding its status. He added that the United States had “full control” over the waterway, without elaboration.

The US president also stated that discussions with Iranian officials were ongoing and said he wished the public could hear the conversations between the two sides.

“I wish you could hear the conversations we have with the Iranians,” he said.

Iranian officials, meanwhile, have repeatedly maintained that they will not negotiate under pressure, highlighting continuing disagreements over the terms of any potential agreement. Both sides have yet to confirm a timeline for the next round of talks.

Trump also touched on trade policy, saying the full impact of tariffs would become clearer over time, while warning that conditions could become more difficult. He urged companies to avoid seeking exemptions and said he would remember those that do not request tariff relief.
