Security Forces Kill 17 India-Backed Terrorists in Balochistan: ISPR
Security Forces Conduct Successful Intelligence-Based Operations
Pakistan’s security forces have killed 17 India-backed terrorists during a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) carried out across multiple districts of Balochistan, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The operations were conducted in Mastung, Nushki, Zehri, Khuzdar, and Kech following the terrorist incident involving a train on May 24. The military’s media wing stated that the operations targeted terrorist hideouts and networks operating in the province.
Heavy Blow to Terrorist Networks
According to ISPR, security forces effectively engaged several terrorist locations during the operations. Following intense exchanges of fire, 17 terrorists belonging to the India-sponsored group known as Fitna al-Hindustan were killed.
The military described the operations as a significant success that dealt a major blow to terrorist networks active in the affected areas.
Weapons and Explosives Recovered
Security personnel recovered a large cache of weapons, ammunition, explosives, and prepared improvised explosive devices (IEDs) from the slain terrorists.
ISPR stated that the killed militants were actively involved in multiple terrorist activities and attacks in Balochistan.
Operations Follow Deadly Quetta Blast
The latest intelligence-based operations were launched more than a week after a deadly explosion near a railway track in Quetta on May 24.
According to the Balochistan government spokesperson, at least 14 people, including three Frontier Corps (FC) personnel, were martyred in the blast near Chaman Phatak. Several others were injured, including women and children.
The attack highlighted ongoing security challenges in the province and prompted intensified counterterrorism efforts by security forces.
Rise in Terrorism in Balochistan and KP
Pakistan has experienced an increase in terrorist activities, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), since 2021.
Security agencies have continued operations against militant groups involved in attacks on civilians, law enforcement personnel, and military installations. The government has repeatedly emphasized its commitment to eliminating terrorism and ensuring peace and stability across the country.
Pakistan Continues Counterterrorism Efforts
The successful elimination of 17 terrorists in Balochistan reflects the continued efforts of Pakistan’s security forces to dismantle terrorist networks and prevent future attacks.
ISPR reaffirmed that security forces remain determined to safeguard the country and will continue intelligence-based operations against all terrorist elements threatening Pakistan’s security.
