Israel launched fresh airstrikes targeting vehicles on a highway south of Beirut, killing at least eight people, including two children, according to Lebanon’s health ministry.
According to AFP, Lebanese authorities said “three raids carried out by the Israeli enemy on the Saida-South coastal highway, specifically in Barja, Jiyeh and Saadiyat, resulted in eight martyrs, including two children.”
The strikes reportedly hit civilian vehicles traveling along the coastal highway connecting southern Lebanon with Beirut. The attacks come amid intensifying regional tensions and continued military escalation across the Middle East.
The targeted areas, including Barja, Jiyeh, and Saadiyat, are located along a major route frequently used by civilians and transport vehicles moving toward the Lebanese capital.
The latest strikes have further increased fears of wider regional instability as ongoing cross-border confrontations continue to raise international concern over civilian casualties and the possibility of broader conflict.
